Birthday at Särgava Guesthouse: magic mirror and 173 printed photos
At a birthday party at Särgava Guesthouse, guests took 88 photos with our magic mirror in 3 hours and printed 173. Busiest hour 19–20: 33 photos.
On Saturday evening, 17 October, a birthday party filled Särgava Guesthouse, and our magic mirror stood in the corner of an old-fashioned room, between dark curtains and a patterned rug. The party ran from seven to ten, and the first photo was taken just minutes after the doors opened.

A revolver, red lettering and two copies each
The frame carried the birthday person's name in blood-splatter red, the date of the party and a silver revolver – part gangster film, part party. That kind of design doesn't end up in a drawer. It goes on the fridge.
The numbers say it all: 173 prints from 88 photo sessions, almost two paper copies per shot. Everyone in a group photo wanted their own, so the printer barely got a break.
The busiest hour: 7 to 8 pm
Parties usually need a warm-up. This one didn't. The first hour brought 33 photos and the second was almost identical at 32 – roughly one shot every two minutes, hour after hour.
After nine the pace eased to 20 photos as longer conversations started at the tables. The very last photo was taken right at ten – clearly nobody wanted to leave without a goodbye picture.
A mirror in an old house
Särgava Guesthouse has tall windows, wooden floors and old rugs, and the mirror's pale blue light frame turned the corner into a small stage. A white umbrella light on top kept faces clear even in the dim room.
On the left, a table of props: sequin hats, masks and funny signs. On the right, the printer handing out photos straight away. Guests picked Estonian, English or Russian on the screen and tapped to start.
Paper beat the phone
9 photos were opened via QR code and 4 were sent by e-mail. Next to 173 prints, the message is clear: at a birthday people want the picture in their hand, not somewhere in their camera roll. The digital copy is still a nice backup for anyone who leaves their print on the table.
Tips for a birthday photo corner
- Pick a bold theme for the frame. The revolver and red lettering gave every print character – we design it with you, see branding.
- Allow unlimited copies. Almost two prints per shot here, and that's what made guests happy.
- Have the mirror ready before the first guests arrive. The busiest hour was right at the start, 7 to 8 pm.
- Keep props within arm's reach. The hats and signs on the table next to the mirror were used all night.
